I never thought I would be excited to see a concrete mixer.  It was challenging to contain my excitement and joy upon arrival at the work site,  when my eyes captured the site of an actual mechanical concrete mixer!

Each year that St. Mark’s has had a team come serve with Mission Guatemala the work has involved some aspect of concrete. We have worked on athletic courts, playgrounds, kitchens and building structures.  This year is no exception. We are involved in a large on-going project in San Andres.  Jointly paired with Advent UMC from South Carolina we will continue work on the structure to serve the teachers and administrators of the school in San Andres.

The excitement, joy and pure amazement continued  as the group learned of the many ways Mission Guatemala serves the people of this beautiful country.  Dave Burns shared the story of how Mission Guatemala began, the growth that has occurred, and desire to continue meeting the needs jointly with the communities in Guatemala.  From small beginning great things can happen!

God is at work in big ways and we are thrilled to be a small part of that!
